What is the difference between top to bottom or lengthwise stretched mesh netting ? 

Top to bottom stretched mesh netting for a 10m x 100m net means that you lay your net in the middle of the height of the surface to cover (10 m) and you unroll it 2 times 50m.

On the contrary, lengthwise stretched mesh means that you lay your net in the middle of the length of the surface to cover (100 m) and you unroll it 2 times 5m.  This is simpler and takes less time.
