What are the possibilities of fire treatment for netting and tarpaulin ? 

Today, it is impossible to get M0 products for nets and tarpaulins, it is possible to get M1 or M2 products (M1 is a better classification than M2).

There are two ways to obtain fireproof products :

- Fire treatment is done during the manufacturing of the raw materials (conpound resin), this is mainly possible for HD PE or PVC products. Alphatex has M1 approval delivered by the C.S.T.B on two products for the moment : leno tarpaulins GET220 g/sqm and raschel micro mesh netting 80 g/sqm.

- Netting is immersed in a bath and covered with a  fireproof product. This treatment enables netting to get a M2 classification but for inside use only, exposed to bad weather, the net will loose all benefits of the fire treatment. Polyamide products can only be treated and classified M2 for inside use.
 
Fire resistance is an important subject, therefore, it is primordial to verify approvals given by different service suppliers and to respect product use.
